A white poinsettia in a 12 cm pot looks both festive and understated: milky-white bracts form wide stars and seem to illuminate the space around them. The actual flowers are small, clustered in the center of the rosette, while the dark green leaves emphasize the whiteness. Such a plant is appropriate as a housewarming or winter holiday gift — it immediately becomes part of the setting.

Place the pot on a windowsill with soft, diffused light or in a bright part of the room, shading it from direct sun. Poinsettias dislike drafts and sudden temperature changes, so it's best to choose a spot away from doors and heating appliances. Water moderately when the top layer of soil dries out, using warm, settled water, and do not leave moisture in the saucer.

White bracts last a long time if the room is cool and there is no heat from radiators. Trim wilted parts and dust the leaves with a soft cloth. The potted plant can be kept for the next season by giving it a rest period after flowering.
