The bird of paradise is a striking plant often chosen as a gift for a housewarming or to mark the start of an important endeavor. It is recognized by its large leaves that resemble fans on long petioles and by a silhouette vaguely reminiscent of a bird of paradise. A young Strelitzia nicolai is a young plant that gradually gains strength and eventually becomes a prominent accent in the interior.

Place the plant in a bright spot that receives plenty of sunlight, but without prolonged exposure to harsh direct rays at midday. A windowsill of a southeast or southwest window will do. Water moderately when the top layer of soil dries out, avoiding waterlogging in the pot. During active growth, it is helpful to maintain light humidity in the air.

The bird of paradise is suitable for those who appreciate plants with character and are ready to pay attention to care. It is chosen for decorating a living room, study, or bright relaxation area. A young specimen gradually develops, forming a powerful rosette of leaves, and under the right conditions becomes the center of the composition.
