Fuchsia bush d9

probuket

A bush fuchsia in a 9 cm pot will appeal to those who love houseplants with a vibrant character. It is a compact bush with trailing stems and numerous lantern-shaped flowers. Depending on the variety, the colour can be red-purple or white-pink: the outer petals are recurved, while inside hides a lush skirt of a different shade. The leaves are small, oval, with slight serration along the edge, green and slightly glossy.

The plant looks good on the windowsill of an east- or west-facing window, in the partial shade of a balcony, and in a bright kitchen. Direct midday sun can cause burns, so diffused light is better. It is suitable as a gift for a housewarming or birthday for a loved one who is passionate about flowers.

Regular watering is needed so that the soil remains slightly moist, but without waterlogging in the saucer. In summer, it is useful to spray the leaves with soft water. In winter, watering is reduced, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Both drying out and overwatering are equally harmful: the plant may drop its buds. Young shoots are pinched to make the bush denser.
