Maranta is a plant with striking leaves that fold up at the end of the day and open in the morning. The oval blades are adorned with dark spots and light veins, and the underside of the leaf is often colored in burgundy or purple. The height of the plant together with the pot is 15 cm, and the pot diameter is 9 cm. The compact bush looks neat and is suitable for small spaces.

It is best to place the maranta in partial shade or in diffused light — direct sunlight leaves burns on the leaves. A windowsill facing east or north, as well as a shelf deeper in the room, will work. The soil should remain slightly moist: water with soft, settled water when the top layer dries out. The plant loves humid air, so it is helpful to place the pot near a container of water or periodically mist the leaves. It does not tolerate drafts and sudden temperature changes well.

Such a houseplant is given as a housewarming gift or as a present to a loved one who is passionate about home plants.
