The two-tone azalea is a compact shrub with many small flowers gathered into lush clusters. The petals are unevenly colored: one shade smoothly transitions into another, creating a soft gradient effect. The leaves are small, dense, dark green; they serve as a backdrop for the bright buds and give the plant a neat appearance. In the 'Salmon' variety, the color is warm, with a pinkish-peach tint.

A pot with an azalea is well placed on a windowsill with diffused light or in a bright room away from direct sunlight and drafts. The plant does better in cool conditions and high humidity, so in a hot, dry room it should be kept away from radiators. It makes a suitable gift for a birthday or as an addition to home decor.

Water the azalea regularly, keeping the soil moist but without water stagnating in the saucer. The water should be soft, let stand, and at room temperature. It is helpful to mist the leaves periodically, and during the flowering period the plant should not be moved from place to place so that the buds do not fall off.
