The variegated schefflera is an indoor tree with showy, variegated foliage. Its leaf blades are palmately compound, gathered in rosettes at the ends of the shoots, and on a green background are scattered creamy and yellow spots and streaks. This coloring makes the crown lighter and airier than that of solid-colored forms. Over time, the trunk becomes woody, so the plant resembles a miniature tree with a neat, tiered crown. Depending on the variety—Nora, Gerda, Janine, or Gold Capella—the variegation pattern may be more or less pronounced.

It is best to place the schefflera in a bright spot without direct midday sun: windows with soft, diffused light are suitable. Variegated forms need more light than green ones, otherwise the pattern on the leaves fades. Water moderately when the top layer of soil has dried, avoiding waterlogging in the saucer. In winter, reduce watering and protect the plant from drafts and hot air from radiators.

The little tree is suitable for a home or office where you need to enliven the interior. It is given as a housewarming gift or to celebrate the start of a new venture.
