Asparagus fern is an elegant houseplant with drooping or slightly curved shoots covered in tiny needle-like leaves. They are gathered in clusters and give the plant a lacy, airy look. The branches arch downward, so the plant looks especially good in a hanging planter or on a high shelf, forming a soft green curtain.

It is best placed in a spot with bright indirect light, without direct midday sun. An east- or west-facing windowsill will work, as will an interior with soft artificial lighting. Water moderately, letting the top layer of soil dry out, otherwise waterlogging harms the roots. In winter, reduce watering, and in summer the plant responds well to regular misting.

Such a plant is suitable as a gift for a colleague or a loved one, as well as for your own home. The green cascades of asparagus enliven a home office or living room and create a sense of lightness in any space.
