Large, deeply lobed leaves with oval holes are the main feature of Monstera standleyana. The dense green foliage grows on long petioles and becomes increasingly fenestrated over time. In a room, the plant looks like a striking green sculpture, especially when placed on its own, against a wall, or in a corner by a window.

It is best to place Monstera in a bright spot without direct sunlight: an east- or west-facing windowsill works well, or a spot about a meter from a south-facing window. In shade, the leaves grow smaller and hardly develop any slits. Water moderately when the top layer of soil dries out, and less often in winter. Drain excess water from the saucer to keep the roots from rotting. Wipe the leaves periodically with a damp cloth to remove dust.

Monstera standleyana is suitable for home and office, for those who love large decorative foliage plants. It is chosen as a housewarming gift or as a standalone interior decoration.
