Strelitzia Reginae (royal)

The bird of paradise is a large plant with bright flowers. Its leaves are broad, leathery, and fan-like. In the Nicolai variety, they reach a metre in length, while in the reginae they are slightly more compact. The inflorescence resembles a bird's head: orange and blue petals open one after another. In a pot, the plant looks like an exotic shrub.
