Medinilla d16 h45 immediately catches the eye with its large, drooping flower clusters that resemble pink lanterns. The leaves are thick, leathery, with prominent veins, in a rich green shade. In a pot with a diameter of 16 cm and a height of 45 cm, the plant looks voluminous, a striking accent in the interior.

It is best to place the medinilla in a bright spot without direct sunlight — an east or west windowsill will do, as well as a shelf in the back of the room with bright, diffused light. Water regularly and moderately: the soil should remain slightly moist, but without water stagnating in the saucer. Drying out of the root ball is undesirable, as is overwatering. On hot days, it is useful to spray the leaves with soft water.

Such a houseplant is suitable as a gift for a housewarming or birthday. The pink bracts add softness and expressiveness to the space, and the medinilla itself becomes the center of the composition among other plants.
