Pale tradescantia

probuket

Tradescantia pallida is a trailing plant with lush shoots. Its stems cascade beautifully from the pot, forming a living waterfall. The leaves are oval, pointed at the tips, with a smooth surface. In the 'Pallida' variety, the leaf blades are light, silvery-green, giving the bush a soft, as if dusted, appearance. The shoots grow quickly, eventually forming a dense crown.

You can place the plant on a windowsill or on a shelf where diffused light falls. It is suitable for a hanging planter or a high stand so that the shoots hang freely. Direct sunlight causes burns, so it is better to choose a spot with soft lighting or light partial shade. Tradescantia pallida is appropriate in home interiors and in a work office, where it will enliven the space.

Watering is moderate: the soil should dry out between waterings. Overwatering harms the roots, so excess water is drained from the saucer. The plant prefers cool conditions in winter and misting of leaves on hot days. It is suitable as a gift for a loved one or a colleague on the occasion of a housewarming or birthday.
