Care at Home: How Indoor Plants Bring Joy Longer
Potted indoor plants are not placed in a vase, but after delivery they still need a proper start. Once the plant reaches the recipient, give it a couple of days to adapt: do not move or repot it. Let it stand where you plan to keep it permanently.
Watering is the main factor affecting its well-being. Check the top layer of soil with your finger: if it has dried out by a couple of centimeters, you can water. Pour water along the edge of the pot, not in the center, and after 15–20 minutes remove excess from the saucer so the roots don't rot. For most plants in this section, settled water at room temperature is suitable.
Choose light according to the plant. Monstera variegata and Pelargonium zonale need bright indirect light, but without direct midday rays. Asparagus plumosus and decorative Ivy will do well in partial shade. Bonsai Rose and Rosa Kordana mix will thank you with blooming on a bright windowsill. Senecio rowleyanus and Medinilla magnifica will appreciate soft light without scorching sun.
Especially during the heating season, don't forget about humidity. Spray the leaves occasionally with soft water or keep an open container of water nearby. Wipe the large leaves of Monstera variegata from time to time with a damp cloth — this way the plant breathes and looks well-groomed.
Fertilizing is not needed right away. The first time fertilizer is applied no earlier than a month after purchase, when the plant has settled in. Then — about once every two to four weeks while the plant is actively growing. In winter months, most indoor flowers are dormant, so fertilizing is reduced or stopped altogether.
Repotting — as needed. When roots appear from the drainage holes or the soil dries out too quickly, it's time to take a pot a couple of centimeters wider. Do this in spring so the plant tolerates the procedure more easily.
Inspect the leaves once a week: dust, spots, or small insects are noticeable immediately. Wipe the leaves, remove dry parts, and the plant will stay healthy longer. These simple habits will help indoor plants from Azerbaijan delight the recipient for months.
Why Indoor Plants Are Worth Giving
An indoor plant won't wilt in a week. Over time, it grows, changes, and reminds the recipient of the giver.
If you want to complement the gift, check out the neighboring sections with bouquets and compositions. Choose a plant that suits the recipient's character, place your order — and we will deliver it in Azerbaijan.
