Plumbago mezianthoides

The leaves are small, fleshy, gathered in thick rosettes and cover the stems so that they resemble shingles. The shoots creep and slightly rise, eventually forming a neat cushion. The foliage is green, and in the sun the edges may turn pink.

The plant is placed on a windowsill of a south or west window, where there is plenty of light. Water rarely, allowing the soil to dry out completely, and in winter even more sparingly. It is suitable for decorating a desktop or windowsill in an apartment and office, and will also make a gift for a housewarming or birthday.
