Caring at home: how to prolong the life of anthuriums

Anthuriums are plants from warm countries, but in a vase they can last a long time if you follow a few simple tips.

Trim the stems. Before placing the flowers in water, cut the stem ends at an angle with a sharp knife — this helps them absorb water better. Use clean scissors or a knife, not paper scissors.

Change the water. Anthuriums love fresh water. Refresh the water every two days, and immediately if it becomes cloudy. Each time you change the water, rinse the vase and re-trim the stems, shortening them by a couple of centimeters.

Don't overwater. Pour enough water to cover the stems about a third of the way. Anthuriums don't like stems submerged too deeply.

Keep away from drafts and direct sunlight. Anthuriums are warm-climate plants, but direct rays and air conditioning can shorten their life. Choose a spot with soft light and stable temperature.

Remove wilted petals. If a flower darkens, gently remove it — the others will stay fresh longer.

Don't place near fruit. Fruit releases ethylene, which speeds up flower wilting. This simple tip is often overlooked.

Mist the leaves. Anthuriums love humidity. From time to time, you can mist the leaves — this keeps them green and glossy longer.

How long will the bouquet last?

How do you ensure freshness?

The flowers are stored in a cold room at +2…+4 °C, deliveries arrive in small batches several times a week, and the bouquet is assembled only after you place your order, so it arrives fresh.

Will the bouquet be the same as in the photo?

We keep the composition, color palette, and size. But fresh flowers vary slightly from batch to batch: the shade of a rose or how open the bud is may differ. That's why we send a photo of your exact bouquet before dispatch.

What if the bouquet is not to their liking?

Do I need to water the arrangement in the box?
