Eucalyptus doesn't appear in bouquets very often, and that rarity makes it especially striking. At Pro-Buket, everything is straightforward: a florist from the city where the arrangement is needed handles both assembly and delivery. On this page, orders are managed by a florist from Barcelona, and delivery is available only to addresses within Barcelona.
In a bouquet, eucalyptus isn't just background greenery for volume. Its leaves are round and dense, with a matte grey-green hue, and a light, fresh aroma lingers in the room for several days after unpacking. In an arrangement, eucalyptus doesn't compete with the flowers but highlights them: next to roses, it adds depth; with wildflowers, it brings a natural feel; and in a solo bouquet, it stands as a statement on its own.
If you're unsure about your choice, write to us, and we'll suggest an option that suits your situation.
In Barcelona, the same specialist both arranges the bouquet and delivers it to the recipient. The finished arrangement is photographed before dispatch, and you receive that photo.
You choose the time, and the courier's task is to plan the route so that delivery arrives exactly at that moment. An anonymous option suits those who wish to remain unidentified: the courier won't reveal the sender's name. Each order includes a complimentary card: send us the text, and it will be delivered to the recipient along with the bouquet.
If the recipient isn't home, the courier will wait for 15 minutes. Then we call the sender and, with their approval, leave the arrangement at the reception desk or in a nearby shop. If no place can be found for the bouquet, it returns to the florist, and a repeat delivery must be paid for again; these funds are non-refundable. It's best to plan ahead: let the recipient know or specify a time when they'll be there.
The courier brings the bouquet to the recipient's address at the chosen time.
Eucalyptus is a hardy plant, but it still opens up more slowly if you create the right conditions from day one. Here are a few tips for home.
Trim the stems. Once you get the bouquet home, cut the ends at an angle, about 2–3 centimetres. An angled cut increases the absorption area, and water travels up the stem faster. Use a sharp knife or secateurs—blunt blades crush the stem tissues, making it harder for water to rise.
Choose the right vase. The vase should be clean—rinse it with baking soda or mild soap to remove any residue from previous water and bacteria. Fill the vase with cool water so that it covers about one-third to one-half of the stem length. Eucalyptus leaves should not end up in the water: if they get wet, they'll start to rot and spoil the water.
Change the water regularly. Every two days, refresh the water, rinse the vase, and trim a couple of millimetres off the stem ends. This habit noticeably extends the bouquet's life.
Keep away from heat and draughts. Sunlight, radiators, heaters, and air conditioners dry out the leaves and speed up wilting. Eucalyptus is more comfortable in a calm spot away from sharp temperature changes. Also, don't place the vase near ripe fruit: the ethylene they release makes flowers open and wilt faster.
Don't place the bouquet near the kitchen. Steam, grease, and food odours settle on leaves and flowers, and the arrangement loses its look faster than it otherwise would.
Mist the leaves. Eucalyptus responds well to moisture: once a day, you can spray the greenery with cool water from a spray bottle. Just avoid getting water on the flower petals—many of them deteriorate from excess moisture.
Watch the water condition. As soon as the liquid becomes cloudy or an unpleasant smell appears, replace it without waiting for the two-day mark. Cloudy water is the most common reason bouquets wilt prematurely.
Remove wilted elements. As soon as you notice a flower or stem starting to deteriorate, take it out of the bouquet. One rotting stem contaminates the water and speeds up the wilting of the others.
Dry eucalyptus if you want to keep it long-term. When the bouquet has served its purpose, you can hang the eucalyptus stems upside down in a dark, dry place—after a couple of weeks, they'll dry and retain their shape and aroma. You can then place the bunch in a vase without water or hang it in a wardrobe.
Delivery in Barcelona is limited to the city: the florist assembles the arrangement and delivers it to the recipient within Barcelona.
