Variegated Prayer Plant

The white-veined maranta will appeal to those who appreciate decorative foliage plants with a striking pattern. Its oval leaves form a lush bush and are adorned with white veins that stand out clearly against the green background. The underside of the leaves is a rich hue, and the leaves themselves rise slightly upward during the day and droop by evening, making the plant lively and dynamic.

You can place the maranta on a windowsill with soft, diffused light or deeper in the room if there is enough illumination. Direct sunlight causes burns on the leaves, so a spot with some shade is better. It makes a suitable gift for a colleague or a loved one who is into indoor gardening, as well as for a housewarming.

Care is simple: water regularly with soft, settled water, keeping the soil slightly moist but without waterlogging in the pot. The plant loves high humidity, so it is helpful to mist the leaves or place the pot near a container of water. In winter, reduce watering, monitoring the condition of the soil.
