Umbrella Tree

You can place the plant in a bright room near a window, shielding it from direct sunlight. It looks great in a living room, office, or lobby where you need to liven up an empty corner. Water moderately when the top layer of soil dries out, and less often in winter. Wipe the leaves periodically with a damp cloth to prevent dust from settling on them.

An umbrella tree is a suitable gift for a colleague on a housewarming or for a loved one on a birthday. Its slender silhouette and cut foliage are equally good in a formal office and in a home setting. The plant is undemanding, grows slowly, and over time becomes a striking green accent.
