How to make hydrangeas last longer in a vase

Hydrangeas are flowers that, with proper care, will last more than a week in a vase. A few simple tips.

Trim the stems. As soon as you receive the hydrangeas, use a sharp knife to make a diagonal cut at a 45-degree angle. This cut improves water uptake. Make the cut under water to prevent air from entering the stem.

Remove the leaves. Any foliage that ends up in the water will rot and spoil the environment. Remove all leaves from the lower part of the stems.

Choose the right vase. Hydrangeas need space. The vase should be clean, and the water should be at room temperature. Fill it two-thirds full.

Use flower food. Special products for cut flowers extend their freshness. If you don't have flower food, add a teaspoon of sugar and a few drops of lemon juice.

Refresh the water. Every 48 hours, change the water in the vase and re-trim the stems. This will revive the flowers and prevent bacteria from multiplying.

Keep away from sun and drafts. Hydrangeas are more comfortable in a cool place, away from heaters and fruit — fruit releases ethylene, which speeds up wilting.

Mist them. Hydrangeas love humidity. From time to time, mist the flower heads with a spray bottle.

How long will the bouquet last?

How do you ensure freshness?

The flowers are stored in a cold room at +2…+4 °C, deliveries arrive in small batches several times a week, and the bouquet is assembled only after you place your order, so it arrives fresh.

Will the bouquet be the same as in the photo?

We keep the composition, color palette, and size. But fresh flowers vary slightly from batch to batch: the shade of a rose or how open the bud is may differ. That's why we send a photo of your exact bouquet before dispatch.

What if the bouquet is not to their liking?
