It is best to place the little tree on a bright windowsill or near a window where soft, diffused light reaches it. During hot hours, the crown should be shaded from direct midday sun so that the leaves do not get scorched. Laurel responds well to cool air and does not like prolonged proximity to heating appliances.

Water moderately when the top layer of soil has dried out. Stagnant water in the pot is harmful to the roots, so excess moisture is drained from the saucer. In summer, it is useful to spray the leaves, and in winter, watering is reduced. Such a gift is appropriate as a thank-you for work or as a congratulation on an important event.
