Blue passionflower brings a touch of tropical freshness and lightness to any interior. It is a vine with deeply lobed dark green leaves and unusual blue flowers: the petals open in a flat circle, while a contrasting crown of thin filaments rises in the centre. The plant grows quickly and clings with tendrils, so it needs support — a trellis, an arch, or a sturdy stake.

A 12 cm pot fits easily on a windowsill or in a bright room near a window. Passionflower prefers a spot with bright, indirect light away from the harsh midday sun, draughts, and heating appliances. In summer, it can be kept on a balcony or terrace, sheltered from the wind. It makes a great gift for a housewarming or as an addition to a home plant collection.

Water moderately when the top layer of soil dries out, avoiding waterlogging in the saucer. It is good to mist the leaves with soft water at room temperature. To encourage shoot growth, provide support and gently guide the stems. In winter, reduce watering and keep the plant in a cooler place.
