White Hyacinth

probuket

White hyacinth in a pot is an expressive bulbous plant with dense waxy flowers gathered into a lush raceme inflorescence. The pure white petals, narrow and slightly recurved, surround a sturdy flower stalk that rises above a rosette of smooth strap-shaped leaves. The inflorescence looks full and neat, while a soft sweet fragrance fills the room.

Place the plant on a windowsill with bright indirect light—east- or west-facing windows are suitable. It is better to shade it from direct midday sun. Water moderately, along the edge of the pot, when the top layer of soil dries out, avoiding waterlogging in the saucer. Cool air prolongs flowering, so the plant does worse near heating devices.

White hyacinth is appropriate as a birthday gift or as a spring decoration for the home. Its restrained beauty appeals to houseplant lovers and those who appreciate delicate fragrances in the interior.
