Croton mix

Croton is a plant with bright leaves that look as if they were painted by hand. Depending on the variety, they can have a golden border, red veins, or variegated spots. The leaves are dense, leathery, and come in various shapes—from narrow and long to broad and wavy. A compact bush in a pot looks festive and immediately catches the eye. Such a flower is appropriate to give as a gift for a housewarming or birthday—it becomes a living accent in the interior.

It is best to place the croton on a bright windowsill or near a window, but without direct sunlight: it can leave burns on the leaves. The plant is heat-loving and does not tolerate drafts, so the location should be protected. In warm seasons, the pot can be taken out to a balcony or terrace, shading it from the midday sun.

Water the croton moderately when the top layer of soil dries out. The water should be soft and at room temperature. It is useful to wipe the leaves with a damp sponge and spray them from time to time—this keeps them clean and helps the plant feel better in dry air.
