The finger baobab is a plant for those who love unusual shapes and appreciate plants with character. It is recognized by its massive, almost sculpted trunk, which gradually thickens and stores moisture. Leaves appear on long petioles and resemble splayed fingers, and during the dormant period the tree may shed them and stand almost without greenery — this is a natural rhythm, not a sign of disease.

It is best to place the finger baobab in the brightest spot: windows facing south and southwest, where there is plenty of direct sun, are suitable. In the warm season, the plant can be taken out onto a balcony or terrace. Watering is infrequent but abundant: let the soil dry out completely between waterings, and drain excess water from the saucer. In winter, especially with cool conditions, water even less often.

Such a baobab will become an expressive accent in a collection of succulents and indoor trees. It is given to those who are into botany, and presented on the occasion of a housewarming or birthday.
